Do not bring your animal here. The reason I went here initially was because it was 5 minutes from home. This clinic is small. The staff are overworked, underpaid, and unfocused on the animals that come through. I went here for routine checkups but left when my dog developed a suspected tumor. South Side Flats Animal Hospital completely mismanaged her diagnosis and treatment. To determine if it was a tumor, I brought my dog in for a procedure and x-rays under sedation. They did not tell me their x-ray machine was broken that day and sedated her anyways despite not being able to do the procedure as planned. We were not able to get the diagnosis or any imaging of the issue. I received no communication during the day from them until I picked her up afterwards. My dog was absolutely terrified when I picked her up. Dr. Baldwin is rude and unskilled as a veterinarian. His demeanor is rough and abrasive. Multiple times he tried to get my dog to approach him for exams saying "we can do this the easy way or the hard way". He suggested bringing my dog into the back and "tying her down" to get her to cooperate. I did not feel comfortable in the room with him and don't trust him with my dog or anyone's animal. This animal hospital is poorly run and mismanaged. You and your pets do not matter to them. Closing this business would benefit the animals of Pittsburgh more than they ever could.

All three of my cats get taken care of here and they staff is always so lovely to them. They answer every silly question I might have and go above and beyond to provide care to my babies in a way that doesn't leave them scared.
